The wedding proposal eventually fell through. “My mother thought it was my fault and that I did something, but the truth is that I didn’t,” she says.
She was so determined not to get married, she even threatened her parents. “To protect myself, I’d just said that I’ll run away and tell the police–and if need be I would have followed through with it,” she says.
Her parents weren’t to be discouraged. Next, her family suggested she marry a divorced man with two children. “How can I mother two children, when I’m a child myself,” the angry girl tried to reason with her parents. “Why don’t you understand that if I study and earn for myself, I won’t need to rely on anyone to survive?”
And even though her mother denounced this as “new age thinking”, she didn’t bring up the prospect of marriage again.
This young woman now dreams of becoming a police officer and has resolved to do so without the support of a husband. “I won’t stop — I have a dream and I will become an IPS officer and prove to her that a girl doesn’t need a man to lift her up… infact she’s so strong that she alone, can uplift others,” she says, powerful words that will resonate with every woman across the world.
What’s even more heartening to see is the impact her story has made. Among the hundreds of people who have posted comments to praise her and her spirit, many have even offered to help her achieve her goal.

This thing, the more I looked at it, the more it closed to where I was almost by this white portal and it was eclipsing it and I cried out the same, clumsy, desperate thing I’d said in the ambulance, in the emergency room, on the operating table, ‘No God! I’m sorry. I want to live. I want to be alive.”
“And as those words gushed out, desperately out of my spirit, I was thrust through this white portal and instantly I was standing in the presence of Almighty God. And I knew I would never die. It transcended everything I knew or could imagine about the great things in the world. It went above and beyond all –anything I could imagine.”
“My spirit came back from the presence of God, came to the hospital, sank into my body, much like when a person would slip a glove on their hand. And I was so full of life and love. And around the bed was about a half a dozen doctors and nurses, and I had this ability to know what they were experiencing. And these people were terrified.”
After his ordeal, he began to experience miracles in his life. He was able to walk again after five years and the blindness in his right eye was restored.
He also wrote a book detailing his near-death experience entitled “Falling Into Heaven.”
